Clearhaus becomes first Danish acquirer to offer Payment Facilitator solution
Aarhus, March 25, 2026 – Danish acquiring company Clearhaus is introducing a new Payment Facilitator (PayFac) solution that allows licensed businesses in Denmark and across Europe to manage payments directly for merchants using their platforms. This brings the Payment Facilitator model to the Danish market for the first time.
As part of the European payment group Unzer, Clearhaus is now enabling technology firms, online marketplaces, and other licensed businesses to onboard and manage merchants themselves. They no longer need each merchant to sign up separately with a payment provider – a capability that has not previously been offered by Danish acquirers.
As more platforms embed payments directly into their services, Payment Facilitator models are becoming increasingly important. With this model, platforms can bring new merchants onboard and ensure all rules are followed, while Clearhaus securely processes the card payments behind the scenes. This allows platforms to offer payments as part of their own service, while Clearhaus provides the underlying payment infrastructure.
This gives platform businesses greater control over how payments are integrated into their services and allows them to stay at the center of the customer experience. Merchants benefit from a faster start, simpler setup, and a single partner managing their payments.

Robert Bueninck, CEO of Unzer, explains: “We want to help Danish businesses stay in control and keep payments simple. With this launch, licensed businesses can embed payments directly into their platforms while Clearhaus takes care of the underlying acquiring infrastructure.”
Earlier this year, Clearhaus also made it possible for physical shops in Denmark to accept card payments using the same system they use for online sales. This makes it easier for small and medium-sized stores to manage everything in one place and gives shoppers a smoother experience, whether they buy in the store or online.
Moving forward, Clearhaus plans to expand its payment solutions to support the growing needs of platforms, retailers, and technology companies across Denmark and Europe. By combining online, in-store, and PayFac capabilities within a single ecosystem, the company aims to make modern payment services more accessible and easier to integrate for businesses of all sizes.
Robert Bueninck adds: “Retail is no longer just online or in-store. Customers expect the same experience everywhere. As part of Unzer, Clearhaus is helping bring those worlds together, making it easier for Danish businesses to manage payments across platforms, online stores, and physical stores in one seamless setup.”
